Using the app

How do I use the feed?

Swipe up for the next ayah and down to go back. Each ayah is recited as it comes on screen. Tap an ayah to open Tafheem, the Surah intro and Word by word. The buttons on the right turn auto-scroll on and off (the feed moves on when the recitation ends), bookmark the ayah, make a share card and turn the sound on or off.

Pinch an ayah to zoom in on its words, and move around with one finger. The zoom is just for that ayah; to change the text size everywhere, use Settings → Text size. The sun or moon at the top switches between light and dark.

To see the tips again, open Settings → How it works.

How do I jump to a surah?

Tap the surah name at the top of the feed to open the surah list, which also shows your five most recent places. To move within the surah you're reading, drag along the right edge of the screen and let go on the ayah you want; slide off to the left to stay where you are.

How do I switch between English and Urdu?

The app starts in your phone's language. To change it, open Settings → Language. This changes the app's words, the translation on the feed, Tafheem and word by word.

The recitation isn't playing.

The recitation streams from the internet unless you've downloaded it. When you're offline, the speaker button on the right shows a small cloud; tap it to see why and to download the recitation. Otherwise, make sure the sound button isn't muted, Settings → Recitation sound is on, and your phone's volume is up. On iPhone, also check the silent switch.

Everything else, including the Quran text, translations and Tafheem, works without a connection.

Can I listen without internet?

Yes. Open Settings → Listen offline and download the whole Quran's recitation (about 1.8 GB, best on Wi-Fi), or download just the surah you're reading from the speaker button when you're offline. Downloaded ayahs play without internet and on a slow connection. If a download stops, starting it again carries on where it left off. You can remove the downloads in the same place to free the space.

I'm not getting my daily reminder.

Check that Settings → Daily reading reminder is on and the time is right. If notifications were declined, allow them for Scroll the Quran in your phone's settings, then turn the reminder on again. Focus modes and battery savers can also hold notifications back.

How is my Khatm progress counted?

Each ayah counts once, when it is actually shown on your screen. Jumping past ayahs doesn't count them as read, so your progress reflects what you've really gone through. Your streak counts the days in a row you've opened the Quran; tap it at the bottom of the feed to share it as a card.

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. Open Settings → Text size. Very long ayahs shrink to fit on one screen; tap one to read it in full.

Content and sources

Where do the Quran text, translation and Tafheem come from?

The Arabic text and font come from Quran Foundation (Quran.com). The English translation on the feed is Saheeh International. The commentary is Tafheem-ul-Quran by Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi, with the English translation by Zafar Ishaq Ansari. Word-by-word meanings and the recitation by Mishary Rashid Alafasy also come from Quran.com.

Everything is shown exactly as published. Nothing is summarised, rewritten or generated by AI.

I think I found a mistake in the text.

Please email us with the surah and ayah number and a screenshot if you can. Because the app shows its sources unchanged, we'll check it against the source and, if needed, report it to the publisher so it can be corrected for everyone.

Will you add other translations, tafsirs or reciters?

The app is simple on purpose, so we keep one translation and one commentary for each language. Suggestions are always welcome by email.

The $1 support

Is the app really free?

Yes. Every feature is free for everyone, with no subscription, no ads and nothing locked.

What does the $1 support do?

It's an optional gift that helps keep the app free. It doesn't unlock anything. You'll see a short thank-you and a small supporter badge in Settings. You can give again whenever you like.

I paid by mistake. Can I get a refund?

Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use your Google Play order history. If you have trouble, email us.

I reinstalled the app and my supporter badge is gone.

The badge is saved on your phone, so it doesn't come back after reinstalling. Nothing in the app depends on it, and there's no need to pay again.

Privacy and your data

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Your name, bookmarks and progress stay on your phone. Read the full privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

We don't hold any of your data, so there is nothing to request from us. To remove everything the app has stored on your phone, delete the app. You can also clear your name in Settings → Your name.

Will my progress move to a new phone?

Not at the moment. Because there are no accounts, your progress and bookmarks live only on the phone you're using.
